There?s a straight line
I could go forever
Just break for new life

It?s midnight
And this feels like a dividing line

Is that lightning or is it thunder?
Or just a likening to the sound of the rain?
Cause if it?s lightning: I gotta wonder
If I should lie in shelter or go out anyway

There?s a freeway
There?s a bus fare
I could go forever
Straight outta here

But maybe it?s long past
Long drives
Maybe it?s long past: choosing sides
