Jesus And John

John he was raised with a steeple over his head,
Lived in the suburbs and memorized scriptures at night before bed.
And he won a prize.
Preachers and teachers would tell him where all sinners go,
Prayed for revival but showed him a fancy carnival show.

Why's it a lie? Why's it a lie?
John saw the lies,
And he saw the steeple,
He saw all the people get it wrong.
Went off to college and came home with knowledge to spare,
Of crusades and slave trades,
And all of the blood that was spilled in God's name.
And all of the lies.

But John couldn't buy it, He just couldn't buy it again
Church was to small so he just threw it all up to chaos and chance.

John saw the lies, Oh, he saw the steeples,

João foi criado com uma torre sobre sua cabeça
Viveu nos subúrbios, memorizava as escrituras antes de dormir.
E ele ganhou um prêmio.
Pregadores e professores poderiam lhe dizer para onde todos os pecadores vão
Orou por reavivamento, mas lhe foi mostrado um carnaval de fantasias

Por que isso é uma mentira?
João viu as mentiras,
E ele viu as torres com os sinos*
Ele viu todas as pessoas errarem
Foi para a faculdade e voltou para casa com o conhecimento de sobra,
Das cruzadas e tráfico de escravos,
E todo o sangue que foi derramado em nome de Deus
E todas as mentiras.

as João não poderia comprá-lo, Ele simplesmente não podia comprá-lo novamente!
A Igreja era muito pequena então ele jogou tudo para o caos e do acaso.
E todas as mentiras, todas as mentiras.
João viu as mentiras, ele viu as torres com os sinos
E viu todas as pessoas errarem

Ele vê todo o Seu povo errar.
