I had my pride

Thought I was strong and in control
Thought I was self-sufficient
In my delusion I thought I had everything
My narrow mind made me blind

I need Your light, lead me
I need Your word, feed me
I need to know what I need
Show me my emptiness
So You can fill it with
Everything You want for me
It took so long for me to realize

You saw right through
These paper walls
That I had built around me
Your holy fire burned them down
And now Your love surrounds me
In the ashes I can clearly see the proof
My own strength is my own weakness
